Game of Thrones: Season 1, Episode 6

"There is only one thing we say to Death... 'Not today.'"

Tyrion steals the show again, confessing his crimes....

Where do I begin, my lords and ladies? I am a vile man, I confess it. My crimes and sins are beyond counting. I have lied and cheated, gambled and whored. I'm not particularly good at violence, but I'm good at convincing others to do violence for me. You want specifics, I suppose. When I was seven, I saw a servant girl bathing in the river. I stile her robe and she was forced to return to the castle naked and in tears. I closed my eyes, but I could still see her tits bouncing. When I was 10, I stuffed my uncle's boots with goat sh*t. When confronted with my crime, I blamed a squire. Poor boy was flogged, and I escaped justice. When I was 12 I milked my eel into a pot of turtle stew. I flogged the one-eyed snake, I skinned my sausage. I made the bald men cry into the turtle stew, which I believe my sister ate. At least I hope she did. I once brought a jackass and a honeycomb into a brothel....

The show really seems intent on building the character of Theon Greyjoy more than the first novel did. Not sure how I like the portrayal yet, but I admire the effort. But at the same time, no Jon Snow again this week?  Weird how they can stretch the story of one who at this point is a minor character, but not one of the major ones.

Paeter Baelish: "Isn't that your wife's house? Tully, my Lord Hand". Lol, what a weaselish line. I have a problem with it though, which I'll address during the appropriate episode.

And finally, Viserys gets his golden crown... another scene that's I've been anxious to see played out on the screen. Viserys has been one of the best characters on teh show. And Dany's cold look during the scene.... brrr... Dany's story is feeling a little rushed, though, I think it would've helped if she'd had a scene last episode.

  11. Tyrion's 'confession' was the highlight of the show - 'At least I hope she did!', had me nearly crying in laughter.

I'm not so sold on the Theon exposition either. He was never a likable character to me, & the character building going on seems to be setting it up for him to be more sympathetic later on. I always perceived him as a very weak-willed person, who just goes with whatever other people direct him to do - which is inexcusable.

My comment's overly long already, but Petyr needs to be more under-cover schemer, he's a little too Snidely Whiplash. He seems to break the fourth wall a lot too, adding to the creeper factor.
